We were getting seriously worried when almost a month had gone by and we had no song stuck in our head: no waking up with a particular tune deliciously torturing us all day, no soundtrack to our dreams. Honest to God worried. Borderline panicking. Was is the daily stress affecting the obsessively musical side of our brain? Had we not been in contact with new music for too long? Were we getting blasé? Just when we were about to drop everything and check ourselves for a much needed music retreat, we wake up this morning with Wankelmut's "My Head Is A Jungle", featuring the excellent Emma Louise, and can not get it un-stuck. THANK YOU Wankelmut ft. Emma Louis, thank you! We still got it!
What makes it a great earworm is that (on top of the fact that we were getting desperate) it's a long song! 8:37 long to be exact. At least for the original MK Remix, which is the one we've posted below (because we're generous like that) for you all to enjoy.
It's more on the dance side of the EDM scale and there's nothing wrong with that, some people tend to be picky that's all.The fact that it's on the less hardcore side makes it actually better for anyone sharing our current mental state in fact: it's much easier to listen to, especially on repeat all day, as we did. Less "brutal", you know, compared to their pure house/hardcore counterparts (Skrillex anyone?). The intro, the drop, the melody, the relaxing sensation it creates, everything is perfect. We are not hating it. At all. It's exactly what we needed.
Another plus? Emma Louise's voice: Ooo so very soothing. Like honey. How come I never hear about her. How is it she's not singing all the time?? How??
