Not many girl bands get our attention here at Ears Peeled. Aside from the classic ones, like Spice Girls, TLC and such, we are not really impressed/convinced by the more modern versions to actually get their songs stuck in our heads. One (of the very few) exceptions is the band HAIM and their very catchy "Forever". Click here to see why...
The sound is very raw, very genuine and not to mention always catchy. HAIM reminds us of Fleetwood Mac, and that alone says enough, no? That's their sound, that's who they are: a sort of modern folk songstresses. Whatever the song, even if you want to hate it, you'll catch yourself singing out loud after only the second time.
One song in particular has been on replay in our mind. "Forever" is not 'our favorite', honestly, it would honestly be hard to chose from their amazing repertoire, but we don't know why it just won't go away. We keep singing the bridge over and over again as if there that was the whole song. It's the most intense part of the song with the claps and the harmony between all three of them?? Come on! I know you know what I'm saying! You just clap along and try to do the slow synchronized dance discreetly enough that no one gives you weird looks.
And you enjoy every second of it.
