There is a certain affection when it comes to 80's inspired synth-pop, and why not? it was the era of artists like Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Ultravox, A-Ha, George Michael, Prince... and great songs like Michael Jackson's "Beat it", Cindy Lauper "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" or Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"... So it's only normal that a big part of emerging bands use this era as reference for their own music.
However, as I often said before, that is NOT an easy task to do. There is a thin line between classic and cheesy, very thin in fact! Few are the bands that manage to pull it off, but I have, luckily, found of them.
