2015 has officially begun (about 2 weeks ago) and so has our pursuit for the next new artist worth discovering. We've probably (definitely) mentioned before our love of finding new music and sharing it with the world and today, for the first time in 2015, we get to do just that. May we introduce to you our very first Discovery of the year: The Everglows...
Who are The Everglows, you ask? Andy Smith (guitar and vocals), Ray Brodrick (drums) and Steve Perkins (bass) got together at the beginning of 2013, so technically they're not "new-new" but they only started getting out there in 2014. Seems like they've been looking for their true sound while doing a few gigs here and there last year.
On their Twitter page, they describe themselves as a "powerful 3 piece playing great catchy tunes with a retro vibe ...". We actually couldn't agree more. And so will you, once you listen to their sound. If you start with their brand new "It's Alright (For You & Me), out only about three days ago, and posted below (we're so thoughtful!), you'll automatically feel that Brit vibe. There is no way of mistaking it. It's got UK written all over. And 60's. And good music. The East London band finds inspiration mostly from the "60's sounds of Mod, garage and psychedelia as well as new wave and Britpop".
After listening to a few of their songs, we feel the need to stick around and just see what they might have in store for us.
