It's been a good week for us. And by good week, we mean we had plenty of songs stuck in our heads for days. Some people might hate it, but it's our fuel. Our favorite part of earworms is annoying everyone around us, by constantly singing the same tune, usually the same part over and over again. But we swear, we are lovely people... sometimes.
Now I know we said that these Top 5: Earworms of the week, but Porter Robinson's "Hear The Bells" has been stuck in our head for right about a month now. No, this is not an exaggeration. A full month, day after day. All day. We are constantly singing, whistling, humming it. People hate us now but we don't care. Blame it on the chorus. And his genius. | With only about a little more than a week out now, it's already #1 in the UK charts. Duh: It's Calvin Harris, it's John Newman, it's addictive. We just can't stop. The voice is so smooth and the drop is even smoother. This is one of the best musical combinations of the year, hands down. But, honestly, has either of these two ever let us down? |
This is a little slower and calmer than the two previous tracks you've just listened to, but wow is it beautiful. "End Of The Affair" is quite a long song, but you don't even notice the 7:49 go by. You actually ask for more as Ben Howard serenades you into zenitude. I swear, you can not be mad after listening to this song. It's just impossible. | I don't think we can say anything more than what we said yesterday about Hozier's "Take Me To Church". One thing is certain, it wouldn't get out of our heads. So we didn't fight it. We just let it swoop over us like a soft blanket and enjoy the warmth of the message, while singing along. |
| One of the new ones, very indie, very cool, very good. It's beautiful in this stripped back, good lyrics, almost melodically playful. This one got it's place in this Top 5 thanks to the beat. It's very modern, but stops short of being too electro-pop and/or dumb. Good job Troye Sivan, your "Happy Little Pill" is addictive. |
