Though it might not seem like it, we are great Punk fans here at Ears Peeled, since it was THE genre back in the early 90's (yes, we are that old). Keeping that in mind, we found Waco, a band that brings us the proper frenzy and energy that good Punk should. So you can imagine how happy we are. Though they have been active for a little while now, it's one little song that just caught our ears and made bona fide fans out of us. We were lucky enough to have the boys agree to answer a few questions for us that we are excited to share with you guys.
People, meet Waco (pronounced Way-Ko). If you follow our Twitter, you'll know that a few weeks ago, we've raved about their latest single "Agitation", A LOT. We raved so much in fact, that we were worried at one point that they would freak out and block us. But no, they were really cool about it, and let's be honest, they seem like the freaky loving type so that worked in our advantage.
Formed by pals Chris Crowley (Bass), Jak Hutchcraft (Vox/Guitar), Tom Pallot (Guitar/Vox) and Welshy (Drums/Vox). They are influenced mainly by classic underground punk bands like Descendents, Poison Idea or Gorilla Biscuits (more so by the latter in our opinion). But why are we telling you all this? We'll let the guys introduce themselves...

1. Can you introduce yourselves as a band, for those out there who are missing out and don’t know who you are?
We are WACO. We're based in London, we make punk rock music and we fucking love it. We're all about the good times, YEAH!
2. Why Punk rock?
We all listen to all sorts of music but punk was something that united us all. PUNK ROCK BROTHERHOOD, UNITY oh yeah and GOOD TIMES.
3. What is the best part about being in Waco?
Rocking out with all our friends, having a format to express our inner beauty and meeting new people through music, getting weird, greeting girls and living the high life!
4. What’s your main inspiration source?
JH: The soundtrack to the Thrill Of It All skateboarding film by Zero and a lot of AC/DC.
CC: Black Sabbath, Poison Idea, Zeke and Lagwagon.
CW: Life’s vibes.
TP: Music, experience, more music.
5. How does the writing process take place?
It all begins with a riff…
6. Your latest track “Agitation” is a bit more tamed compared to your other songs. Why the change?
We don’t limit ourselves with what we write. With Agitation we had the benefit of professional recording gear opposed to recording in a crummy living room in Camden. Our ethos is, if we write something and it sounds good, then we add distortion and play it.
7. You’ve recently made a video for said track, how was the experience?
It was wild, calamitous and heaps of fun, you had to be there! Big thanks to everyone who came, you made it rock. Cant wait for you guys to see it, STAY TUNED!
8. What are your favorite songs on The Wolf EP?
JH: Salem, because it was the first track we wrote and it’s where it all began.
TP: The Devil, its just so much fun to play.
CC: High Life because it’s a proper singalong.
CW: I like them all for different reasons.
9. The symbols and art you use are very dark and kind of esoteric; can you explain for instance the cover art for the Wolf EP?
We wanted something bold. Our buddy Alex Wells is really into heavy metal and comics and he's a sick illustrator. We saw his drawings and it just felt right for the EP.
10. Can we expect a full studio album soon?
Hold your horses, we have new EP coming first! We can't say much else about it apart from we love it!
